Energy Star Requirements

The following technical specifications from Energy Star for new homes (version 2.0, Sept. 2006) have been met by the Taylor's new 1296 ft home completed in June of 2007.

Other Energy Saving Initiatives:

  1. Water conservation: 3 toilets each at 6 litres per flush
  2. Basement header insulation: acoustical @ R10
  3. Domestic gas hot water system meets CAN/CSA Standards
  4. All appliances are Energy Star
  5. All lights are CFL (compact fluorescent lights) & halogen pot lights with dimmers
